The Green Gothic: Echoes of the Vampire Panic

from $23.00

Inspired by The Vampire Panic of New England, this Victorian beauty is an original.

A quick recap, The Vampire Panic was a reaction to an outbreak of tuberculosis, also known as consumption, in the 19th century. TB was thought to be caused by the deceased consuming the lives of their surviving relatives. It’s a crazy story. I highly recommend reading about it HERE.

  • Available as a print in two sizes: 8x10 or 10x12 inches.

  • There are two versions of this piece available: The one and only original or prints

  • No frame included.

  • The original is 14.5”x18” on toned paper. I made it with a mix of markers, colored pencils, gold paint markers, and pens.

  • A Giclee print with a matte finish + 1/2" border

  • Each print is numbered and signed.

  • The artwork will be delivered in a USPS sturdy tube or Flat Rate Envelope.

*NOTE 1: I like to include fun little easter eggs in my artwork. If you read the story that inspired this piece you will know that it was tradition to “tell the bees” when someone died. You can read other “fun” superstitions and traditions in the post as well. So I included a small bee somewhere in the image. It’s not overly difficult to find but it is fun.

*NOTE 2: With each order, there is a special “gift” included. I would like it to be a surprise but know that it is nothing physical (i.e., stickers, sketches, etc…) but it is something that will help bring attention to situations or events in your specific area.
